U9–U15 Overview

SSC encourages playing to develop, which leads to long-term success on the soccer field. Winning is a byproduct of player development and learning. One of the most effective ways to get players excited about soccer is to show them they are improving as individuals and as a team, building confidence, momentum, and optimism.

U9/U10

The focus is on having fun and player development. The primary objective of game participation and training is to provide players with equal learning opportunities. The focus of this age group is equal playing time for all, emphasizing fun and fundamental development.

U11–U15

As players advance, coaches balance individual development with team competition. All rostered players receive significant minutes, developing player skills while building team cohesion.

Practice & Game Schedules

Sharks practice and game schedules will be published in late August, following the SECJSA district scheduling meeting. Practices for U9 to U15 are on weekdays, twice a week, and games are once a week, usually on the weekends. The fall season includes eight games (four away and four home). 

Communication

Team communication is managed through the Playmetrics  app. Coaches will send schedules, field and practice updates, game updates, and announcements through the app — be sure to download it and keep notifications on! You will receive an invitation to your team once your Sharks registration is processed and your child's team roster is finalized.

Registration

Registration for the 2026-27 Sharks year for U9 to U15 (birth years 2012-2017) is $200 and is open through August 1; any requests to register after August 1 will be considered on a space-available basis and will incur a late registration fee of $25. 

Uniforms

If you're new to Stonington Soccer Club and need a jersey number, please contact volunteer Uniform Coordinator Susan Lord at sklord@comcast.net before ordering a uniform. She will assign your number and provide guidance on your uniform purchase.
